How to apply

Grant applications may be submitted from May 1 through October 1 though we reserve the right to consider applications before or after those dates. Applications must be sent in a single PDF file to We no longer accept paper applications.

The applications are read by a committee of our members who decide which groups will receive awards and the amounts to be granted. We favor performance groups such as music, dance, or theater though we consider others. Grants are typically $3,000–$6,000. Award notifications are normally made in October. 

We are called Miami Salon Group because we require grantees to make a brief presentation at one of our monthly meetings. Our meetings are at 5 PM on the first Sunday of the month from November through May. At the time of grant notification, we will tentatively set the date for your in-person presentation to our group though we are flexible and will work with you.

The most successful presentations are short on talk and instead display your group's artistic skills. Remember, it is our practice that members often make individual gifts that are bundled with our group donation.

We generally favor smaller groups but do not rule out larger groups, especially where support for a specific project is needed. We generally do not fund applicants two years in a row.

The grants are funded solely by the donations of our members, no public funds are involved. Our members may, from time-to-time, visit grant applicants paying for tickets or admission as applicable. We do not accept free tickets or admission.

Your performance or exhibition must take place in Miami-Dade or Broward Counties.

Please edit your submissions very carefully. Some of our members were English teachers, lawyers, or editors.
